The work depicts the American President having an encounter with a locked door on a visit to Beijing. The Image appealed to me both because of its humour, and the interesting surfaces, colour and texture shown. The premise behind the work is exploring the idea of manufactured art in similar way to Andy Warhol and his prints. The piece also looks at the tension between the gestural paintwork and the sterilised form of the mass produced polystyrene cup. The piece is produced with acrylic.
